Mindanao Sustainable Settlement Area Development Project, Republic of the Philippines
(2003 - on-going)

In supporting Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), the Government of the Philippines has been enforcing land distribution as well as assistance program for the support services targeted on beneficiaries in released agricultural land. Settlement Areas are classified as the biggest land area released from national land for land distribution, however, their development has been less focused due to their remote location, low agricultural productivities by limited flat land, as well as difficulties in marketing and transportation by insufficient road development. The Project, abbreviated as gMINSSADh is financed under Japanese Yen Loan through Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for the infrastructure development, agricultural development and environment management as well as institutional development for the purpose of poverty alleviation and sustainable development in eight (8) Settlement Areas in Mindanao Island. Since the project contains many components in various sectors, SCI's capability as gManagement Consultanth has been reputed in terms of the management on huge number of sub-projects.
