Nyamkomba Area Irrigation Project, Republic of Zimbabwe
(1989|1998)
As 55% of people in Zimbabwe reside in the Communal Land, population increase and narrow land hindered it from developing, that the land had been deteriorated by the rough farming like a takeout-method and production yield had been decreased. This project focused on feasibility study and aimed at the increment of production and livelihood conditions of the residents by means of introduction of irrigation farming in the Communal Land in order to improve/modernize the farming and diversifying the crops for potential marketing. Thereafter, the Project was implemented under the Japanese Grant Aid to build the irrigation facilities in the farming land and to improve the livelihood conditions.
