Based on the water resources development master plan in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the water supply project was planned in the areas neighboring to the town, in high population density and also high benefit. Sanyu adopted the solar energy system that the initial cost of the panels was high but operation and maintenance cost was low, and planned modern water micro distribution system equipped with the solar panel and boreholes with hand pumps.
